Muhammad Aamer the Pakistani fast bowler who was banned for his role in
spot-fixing is expected to get permission for training followed by permission to play domestic cricket prior to the expiry of his five year ban.
Interim Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Najam Sethi had sought relaxation in Aamer’s ban during the meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in London. The ICC has formed a five member committee which will look into relaxing Aamer’s ban.
It is expected that first Aamer will be allowed to train and swim at the academy followed by being granted permission to play domestic cricket. Aamer will not be allowed to play international level cricket until he serves his entire five year ban.
The ICC committee is expected to submit its report during a meeting of the council in October following which a final decision will be taken.
Muhammad Aamer was banned for five years for his role in bowling deliberate no-balls during the Lords Test against England in 2010.
