The Secret Agent Thriller “Ek Tha Tiger” will be Screened in Pakistan on Eid


The story of the movie revolves around a secret agent which FBI

appoints to trace down the activities of a student scientist who is suspected of selling missile technologies to Pakistan. By doing so, Tiger, the secret agent fall in love to the locks of professors bombshell secretary and the story goes on.

Now the movie has cleared the first hurdle in its Pakistan release this Eid. The film has got No Objection Certificate for its print to be taken to Pakistan for viewing by Pak Censor Board, reports a daily.

Muhammad Ashraf Gondal, vice chairman of the CBFC, told the daily: "A few board members watched the trailer. Filhaal single opinion nahi hai. CBFC chairman Shahnawaz Noon will submit a final approval report after watching the whole film."

Sheikh Amjad Rasheed from IMGC Global Entertainment, the distributor of the film in Pakistan, was quoted by the daily, "They have asked for the print by August 12. On August 13, the final content will be watched and a decision taken. But hopefully, Eid tak Pakistan ke theatres mein film lag jaayegi."

Rafiq Gangjee of Yash Raj Films (YRF said, “Certain films in the past have shown the country (Pakistan) in a bad light, but unfortunately, we have to pay the price. It’s possibly as a result of this that the theatrical trailer of Ek Tha Tiger has been restrained from being aired in Pakistan.If you see the body of work that YRF and Salman Khan have done, you will appreciate that we would never go down this route.”

Ganjee further added:  “We will follow the law of the land and seek an official censor certificate by showing the film to the authorities at the right time. We are confident that there will be no issues after that.”

The film, which releases on August 15, is the story of a Trinity College scientist who is suspected of selling missile technology secrets to Pakistan. Salman, who plays Tiger, a secret agent from India, goes to Dublin to track the professor’s activities. There he falls in love with the professor’s secretary, played by Katrina Kaif.
