M. M. Alam, the hero of the 1965 war, passed away after a protracted
illness,
here on Monday. A PAF spokesman said in a statement here that the
Chief of the Air Staff, on behalf of all ranks of Pakistan Air Force, announced
with great grief and sorrow that ‘our national hero, world famous fighter pilot
and a legend of the 1965 war, Air Commodore (Retired) Muhammad Mahmood Alam
breathed his last this morning in Karachi after a prolonged illness’. He was
78- years- old. ‘Our hero left us to make his final flight to the eternal
destination. Personality, character and sacrifices of this brave Pakistani are
beyond any word of description’. ‘May Allah grant him eternal peace, Ameen’,
the PAF spokesman added.
