The most pleasant news for cricketing fans of India and Pakistan is that India has said YES to
hosting a series between two arch rivals in coming December and January. BCCI has confirmed plans to invite their neighbours for a "short series" later this year. Same year, two Aussies series will also be played to avoid the expected schedule collapse of world cup 2015.
Both the cricketing giants managed to face each other five years ago. Not many of the details were provided by the Board of control for Cricket in India. Following a meeting in Delhi on Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced in a statement on their website: "It was decided to resume cricketing ties with Pakistan by inviting the Pakistan cricket team for a short series in December 2012 - January 2013. The modalities will be worked out shortly."
This good news came when Pakistan had announced its plans to plead against its expected ban in champions league T20 and rotation policy of ICC president ship which was being strongly opposed by India.
Pakistan last toured India in 2007 when they played three Tests.
India had been scheduled to tour Pakistan at the start of 2009 but that was cancelled in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks in November 2008.
Since their last Test meeting, the two rivals have faced each other in eight one-day internationals. Two of those were played in Pakistan in 2008, with five more being played in South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The other ODI was last year's World Cup semi-final in India.
