Senior Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Bashir Ahmed Bilour has
been killed in a suicide bomb attack in Peshawar, the media reported on Saturday. Talibans have claimed the responsibility claiming that his death was the result of his unflinching support for Malala Yousafzai and his vibrant approach towards Taliban.

According to reports, he was fighting for the battle for his life following the attack, which left 6 others dead and over 15 injured.

Hospital sources said that, Bilour received critical wounds to his chest and stomach.

As reports trickled in, doctors scrambled to save his life operating on him at the Lady Reading Hospital but the minister succumbed to his injuries.

Sources said that the explosion took place when Bilour was leaving the residence along with his personal secretary and SHO Sattar Khan of the Kabuli Police Station, both of whom died in the blast.

The explosion took place at the house of a local ANP leader where a party workers meeting was being held.
